Like all good events, it doesn’t just happen. It requires planning. This article provides some helpful suggestions for employers when planning the office party to minimise the risk of staff disputes arising either during or after the festivities have died down.
A verbal warning signals the start of a disciplinary process. It can be divided into two stages. The first stage being an informal verbal warning. This is useful where an employee's behaviour has fallen short of the required standard. It may be that they have been late for work on a regular basis and that issue needs to be addressed. It is a less confrontational way of correcting the misbehaviour or work performance shortfall. The second stage is the formal verbal warning.

Ryanair had to change their leave year from April-March to January-December in order to bring it in line with IAA requirements, and Flight Time Limitations. They have also had to give increased holiday allocations to pilots and cabin crew.
When it comes to trying to achieve an improvement in a worker’s output, the Performance Improvement Plan should only be used where all other methods have failed. A skilled manager will strive to find out what the root cause of the employee’s failure to reach the target is. Maybe it is a training problem, or a workflow problem, or a leadership problem. Are the targets realistic ?
